The COND Blogography: Charles Lyle Meng

Having spent the whole of his life in the Bay Area, Charlie Meng has come to fully embody everything we love about NorCal and a few things we hate. Born and raised in Dublin, a.k.a. "Ghetto D", Charlie has grown to be a fine young man who has made his mark on the valley through his love for the community of Valley Bible Church and his shameless fashion sense. For years he has given his heart to high school students at VBC (and they often return the favor, if you know what I'm sayin). More recently, Charles has found himself quickly climbing the rungs of the fashion world ladder as a "Wardrobe Consultant" at EDGE Shop for Men. Not "The Edge", okay. Just EDGE. Seriously, get it right. Anyway, he often recruits his friends to model for Danville's finest men's clothing boutique. However, he has yet to ask his roommate Tyler to pose for Edge, which, considering his boyish good looks and sleek body, continues to baffle us all. Charlie is a great roommate and friend who faithfully keeps up with the Cond's steady flow of dirty dishes and shares his love for Christ with all through his generosity and kindness.

Things you should know about Charlie:
1. He loves watching the Simpson's while eating fish sticks
2. He loves scraping the salt off the tray when the fish sticks are gone
3. He loves scraping the salt off the bottom of any dish or plate that just had a salty morsel on it
4. He rarely stays up past 10:00pm
5. If he does stay up past 10:00, he only does so to play guitar hero for two hours before he walks upstairs muttering about how "foolish" it was to stay up so late
6. His favorite food is pizza
7. He use to be in a hard core band, which is why his voice will forever be raspy (the ladies love it)
8. Favorite McDonald's Dollar Menu Item: Double-Chee, usually 3 or 4 at a time
9. He has crazy dreams when he eats fast food right before bed (see #8, that can't be healthy)

Go visit Charlie at Edge today, or stop by the Cond and wake him up. That's about all he does.

From the bottom of my heart,
Pletch

Last one Standing - Discovery Channel

Generally at the COND we find ourselves hanging out on the patio and catching up on the week or resting our feet from a long day of saving lives (Conley), saving souls (Charlie, Pletcher) or making dreams come true (Tyler). Tonight was a bit different. When Matt (Sill) and I got to the COND after being at the White's house in Castro Valley (it was cool, thanks!) we were greeted by one of the craziest new shows on the Discovery Channel known as Last One Standing. This is an amazing show where 6 men are dropped into a the middle of nowhere (ya like the bush in Africa) and after training for a few days they compete in whatever the local form of manly dominance there is. Tonight we watched them stick fight, and yes there was blood. Check it out and lets compete. I'm calling out D-Bo and The Ton.

The COND Blogography: Tyler

Tyler was born in the Bay Area and, outside a minor stint as a struggling actor in Southern California, has lived here his whole life. His time in So-Cal was quite beneficial. It was there that he met and befriended honorary roommate So-Cal Charlie (aka So-Ho Charlie, aka Spahnsy) and became closer with Lucus "Sluke" Peterson (also an honorary roommate). Tyler is a man with a strong work ethic and an eye for a good time. He's a regular at the local Popi Lounge, where he enjoys dancing and mingling. His signature dance moves are contagious, as it usually takes only moments of Ty's dancing to pack out a dance floor. Also known for his beer making skills, he has created three signature brews that "wow" the taste buds. He was 2005's Bay East Association of Realtors 'Rookie of the Year' for his work in the real estate industry. His success has enabled him to own the COND and open it to it's current occupants. His latest accomplishment came late in 2007 as he spear-headed the creation of THE COND BLOG, which has put him in the running for Blogosphere Magazine's prestigious Blogger of the Year Award.

Tyler Fun Facts:
1. Favorite Beverage: Claygo
2. Favorite McDonalds Dollar Menu Item: EVERYTHING that's under (or over) a dollar
3. Favorite Movie: Malibu's Most Wanted
4. Favorite Music: Anything on the Top 20
5. Favorite Guitar Hero Song: Black Sabbath's War Pigs.
6. Birthday: September 23, 1982
7. Favorite Color: Blaze Orange
8. Hero: David
9. Preferred Nicknames: Super Ty-Town, Suppie Fool, Fat Tyler
10. Favorite T.V. Channel: Food Network

Please say "suppie" to Ty in the comments section.

Thanks!
Charlie and Pletch

Hopyard - Do it.

There is a reason the Hopyard was voted best of Pleasanton, again. Lets face it, if you want a great American Alehouse & Grill (see logo) experience, the Hopyard has it. Tuesday is a great night to go and Charlie, Chris (Pletcher), Deej and I were there last night. I got the usual Diablo burger with onion rings (try it). Not sure what they got, but no salads! Those are for the ladies or when we cant fit into our Edge jeans. Oh and Pleasanton is better than San Ramon, just in case you were wondering.

Suppie!

Yes, it is true. There have been so many people wanting to know what it is we do at the cond, so.... now you can have an eye into the world of the infamous COND.

What we do:
1. I cant tell you all, yet.
2. Romance Ladies.
3. Come home and find random people sleeping or watching tv (Josh, Matt, Luke, So-Cal, The Ton, Deej).
4. Play games, lot of games, and not the video ones (the mind ones).

What we dont do:
1. Cook
2. Sleep (except Charlie)
3. Vacuum
4. Take in stray cats (except when Nigel is hungry).

So who is the COND? Good question, thanks for asking.
